Boosting sales through social media

Social media has quickly become a part of the marketing efforts of companies and this development is unlikely to slow down in the coming years. If ever there was a time to harness the social media in search of new customers, it is now.


Social media marketing may be difficult at first if you do not know where to start. Getting started is the most important thing, as the best way to learn how to use social media is by doing.   

The first step in social media marketing is choosing the right channels. Think of the channels you could use to reach your potential customers and focus on those.

If your operation is based on B2B, your customers are most likely to be found on LinkedIn or Twitter. If your potential customers are young people, they can be best reached on Instagram or Snapchat.

Once you have found suitable social media channels for your company and learned how to use them, you can gradually boost your message by focusing your ads on specific target groups.

Instead of targeting the people who use your products, also think of the people who buy your products. For example, if you are advertising a dress shirt to just men between the ages of 25 and 35, you are completely excluding spouses, mothers, sisters, and other people looking for a gift for a loved one.

CONTENT IS KEY

Quantity does not compensate for quality and you cannot save your marketing by throwing money at it if the content is lacking. Remember that the content should be produced for the customers, not the company.

Good content will entertain your customers and provide additional value. It is advisable to experiment boldly with different types of posts, as even surprising things may stimulate interest and provide sought out additional visibility for your company.  

Invest in good photographs and think about the angles. Today, smartphones and free graphics applications allow you to produce impressive, high-quality images quickly.

You should also highlight your employees, your skills, and the values of your company. People prefer following other people and it is easier to do business with a familiar face.   

Set yourself apart from your competitors with a personal touch. Studies show that more than 70 percent of people are more trusting of a message received from another person than an ad received directly from a company.

PATIENCE PAYS OFF

Just like going to the gym, there are no shortcuts in social media marketing, and instead success requires regular work. Results may not be visible after a week or two, and it may take several months to increase your visibility.

Include updating social media in your calendar and make it part of your daily routine. When you plan out the subject matter of your content in advance, the activity becomes more effective.

You should also specify objectives and indicators that allow you to monitor your social media marketing. The different channels provide a lot of information on the success, reach, and conversions of your posts. You also should not overlook the feedback received directly from the customers.

SIBBO

Sibbo är en snabbt växande tvåspråkig kommun som ligger på ca 25 km:s avstånd från Helsingfors och Borgå och är en del av huvudstadsregionens ekonomi- och pendlingsregion. Sibbos läge invid Lahtis och Borgå motorvägar är logistiskt sett utmärkt. Man når Helsingfors-Vanda flygplats samt Nordsjö hamn under en halv timme.
