Training should be agreed on an annual basis. Many sectors have mandatory training courses required by law, but you should also provide opportunities for voluntary training. Agree on the framework for training with your personnel – how many days per year is spent on training and what type of courses are recommended. Listen to the requirements and hopes of your employees but ensure that everyone is fully aware of the competence objectives of the company. You should also agree that lessons learned in training are shared with the entire team.
Wellbeing consists of many things. As the employer, you are responsible for ensuring a safe and comfortable working environment and the best possible working conditions. In addition to this, you can encourage your employees to look after their health and wellbeing by offering exercise vouchers and organizing workplace exercise sessions. The atmosphere of the workplace and the motivation of your employees are essential parts of wellbeing at work. Is everyone aware of the shared values, purpose, and direction of the company?
An open culture of discussion is essential. Remember to give feedback each day and be present when you are addressed. In addition to daily discussions, you should also set aside time each year for a more in-depth session. The development interviews should not be a mere formality, as they provide the opportunity to convert thoughts and hopes into shared objectives and goals.
Small gestures and acknowledgements are remembered the best. Is it customary to celebrate the closing of a large deal with cake at your company? Some workplaces also celebrate failures, as open discussion is the best way to learn from mistakes. Think about perfect ways to motivate your team and to make everyone feel special.
