Statistics for 2025 show a need for transformation: One quarter of the 2,000 companies advised by Keuke wanted a review of their business

Approximately one quarter (23%) of the companies and entrepreneurs advised last year by the Central Uusimaa Business Development Centre (Keuke) were looking for a new direction for their business. This can be seen in the statistics on business reviews. Compared to 2024, there was a six percentage point increase in the use of this service.

Keuke served 2,055 companies in 2025. The number of customers has remained at just over two thousand for the past five years. Keuke’s most used service was advice on starting a new business, which was sought and received by 27% of customers.

“Last year’s statistics reflect uncertainty among companies and their need to seek a new direction for their business or validation for their decisions,” says Elina Pekkarinen, CEO of Keuke.

More personnel plans were also drawn up than before, a total of 70 (20 in 2024). 15 per cent of all customers sought help with personnel issues.

Marketing and sales consulting has traditionally been at the top of the statistics. In 2025, 19 per cent of customers sought advice on these matters, making it the third most popular service offered by Keuke.

A positive signal was the significant increase in investment plans in euro terms from the previous year. Companies made investment plans with Keuke worth almost €18 million in total. That is almost twice as much as in 2024, when the figure was €9.7 million.

Companies must be agile to change

The prolonged major changes in the operating environments of companies have led to greater uncertainty.

“Companies need to be agile. Agility is an everyday approach that comes from small, quick decisions, such as reviewing costs, redesigning products and services, responding to changes in demand and anticipating scenarios when the signals are still weak,” Pekkarinen explains.

“Keuke plays a significant role in this process as a sparring partner for companies and a provider of an outside perspective.”

Keuke’s statistics also show the importance of good networks and keeping up with the times. Last year, 1,488 business development enthusiasts from Central Uusimaa attended Keuke’s events.

“There is no need to try to solve and come up with everything yourself. Good networks are an important resource for SMEs. Networks not only provide support during tough times, but are also a pathway to growth,” says Pekkarinen.
