The Blessing And Madness Of Leadership Discussed At Keuke's Management Forum

The blessing and madness of leadership discussed at Keuke's management forum

WHAT KIND OF MANAGEMENT WORKS IN THE 2020s?

You have to lead the troops, but how are you going to do that? Someone must point the way, but what methods could be used to do so? Sticks or carrots? Authoritarianism or democracy?

Very few are born leaders, but the expectations toward managers are often almost unrealistic. Central Uusimaa Business Development Centre (Keuke) is organizing a management forum on Tuesday December 3 in Järvenpää-talo. The event is titled Johtamisen siunaus ja hulluus (The blessing and madness of leadership) and it consists of four successful managers sharing their stories and discussing leadership as we prepare to enter the 2020s.

– It is our job to provide new perspectives and sources of inspiration to entrepreneurs and business managers in our area of operations. Management is increasingly discussed in the news, books, and columns, as traditional ways of working are changing significantly. The new generation requires new types of leaders, says Elina Pekkarinen, the CEO of Keuke.

The introductory remarks will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Maarit Tastula.

PARTICIPATING IN THE DISCUSSION AND SHARING THEIR STORIES OF MANAGEMENT ARE:

Paula Salastie, Teknos: Teknos is an international paint manufacturer, which was established in 1948. The company operates in 20 countries. Group CEO Paula Salastie is continuing the company's operation in the third generation. In 2016, Salastie was recognized as the Businessman of the Year by Suomen Liikemiesyhdistys.

Mikko Honkanen, Vainu: Vainu is a B2B sales tool created in 2013, which seeks sales prospects, extensively utilizing online databases. CEO Mikko Honkanen was recognized as the Growth Company Manager of the Year in 2018.

Saana Tyni, Koti Puhtaaksi: In the Great Place to Work competition, Koti Puhtaaksi Oy was recognized as the best place to work in Finland and in 2019, the company was named the best place to work in the cleaning industry in Europe. From the very beginning, the mission of entrepreneur Saana Tyni has been to increase the appreciation of the cleaning industry and to shake up traditional structures.

Markku Rentto, Reka & Neo Industrial: Markku Rentto is a fourth-generation entrepreneur in a Finnish family-run company. Rentto has a particularly extensive experience of the enterprise sphere from establishing companies to internationalization, stock market listing, as well as bankruptcy.
